MSC Introduces the Rhino Box™

Integrated, all weather transport and on-site packaging solution offers quick and reliable deployment and operation of electronics and communications equipment regardless of terrain or temperature.

Vista, California, April 12, 2010 – Metric Systems Corporation today announced the immediate availability of the Rhino Box™.  The Rhino Box™ is an all-weather integrated transport and environmentally-controlled package that enables on-site operation of electronic and communications equipment with a minimum of pre-site preparation.

Metric Systems Corporation’s proven product portfolio includes integrated hardware, software and networking systems operating in the HF to Microwave bands. The Company currently supplies private and public agencies with wireless communications tools and appliances to maintain critical public safety and business operations.

Utilizing the proven performance of the Hardigg® and Zero® industrial and military grade ruggedized transport packages, the Rhino Bo™x incorporates an advanced, microprocessor- controlled, two stage heat removal and heat re-circulating system to maintain a safe equipment operating environment in external air temperatures of -30 degrees to +160 degrees Fahrenheit (-34 degrees to +71 degrees Centigrade) and relative humidity levels to 100%.   Mil-type rain and dust-proof power and signal connectors provide reliable access to internal interfaces.  Optional RF connections allow the integration of a wide range of wireless equipment into a single protected system.

On-Line Rhino Box™ status and alarm monitoring and system control is accomplished via an industrialized USB PC interface or through an optional short range wireless link, or remotely via a wide area network connection thus eliminating the need for on-site personnel.

The Rhino Box™ is an ideal solution for any operation that requires external field support for their operations on a short or long-term basis.  The requirement to construct, maintain, and man a costly equipment enclosure is eliminated.  Government or military operations that require quick response multi-site deployments can effectively and efficiently support those operations with an easily configurable, transportable solution like the Rhino Box™.

The standard Rhino Box™ is offered in a 12U package.  Optional systems in 6U to 24U cases are available along with tailored configurations to meet specific needs.
